Then Shah Jahan’s son asked Shah Jahan what he wanted now. Shah Jahan replied that he should be imprisoned in some other place from where he could see the Taj all the time and keep an eye on it. And this wish of Shah Jahan was also fulfilled. Even while being imprisoned, Shah Jahan kept looking at the Taj every moment. And he breathed his last there. After which the emperor was also buried in the Taj right inside the Taj Mahal, near the grave of Mumtaz Bano.
