Born in the Rajputana, Sisodia dynasty of Hindu religion. History of Uday Singh Rana. Udai Singh was born on 4 August 1522 AD in Chittorgarh Fort. His full name was “Maharana Udai Singh (II)”. His father was Rana Sanga (Rana Sangram) and mother was Rani Karnavati. He was their fourth eldest son and grandson of Rana Raimal. His mother, Rani Karnavati was the queen of Bundi. Who performed the second Agni Jauhar against Bahadur Shah in Chittorgarh Fort on 8 March 1535 AD.
Uday Singh Rana’s siblings were Ratan Singh, Bhoj Raj and Maharana Vikramaditya Singh. And he was the brother-in-law of Meera Bai, who was engrossed in the devotion of Lord Krishna. His eldest brother Bhoj Raj was the husband of Meera Bai.
Uday Singh Rana was brought up by mother Panna Dhay in Kumbhalgarh Fort. The sons of Uday Singh were “Maharana Pratap, Shakti Singh, Jagmal Singh, Sagar Singh, Maan Kanwar, Hari Singh, Ram Singh” etc. Maharana Pratap was the eldest among them. His daughters were “Chain Kanwar, Surajde Bai, Jaswantde Bai, Likhmi Bai, Bai Jiraj, Amar Kanwar, Har Kanwar” etc. The grandsons of Uday Singh Rana were “Amar Singh, Jai Singh, Kunwar Mal Singh, Shekha Singh, Kunwar Ram Singh” etc.
The one who gave birth to Maharana Pratap. His first wife was Chauhan princess of Jalore, “Maharani Jayawanta Bai Songara” (1). (She was the daughter of “Akheraj Bagadia/Bagdawa Chauhan” of a princely state of Pali in Rajasthan). Before marriage, her name was “Jeevant Kanwar”. Later her name was changed. Jayawanta Bai often used to give advice to Uday Singh Rana in political matters.
His second wife was Sajja Bai Solanki (2). Who was the daughter of Rao Prithvi Singh Solanki of Toda. Who gave birth to Shakti Singh and Vikram Dev Singh. Udai Singh Rana’s third wife was Rani Dheerbai Bhatiyani (3). Who was Uday Singh Rana’s most beloved wife. Who gave birth to Jagmal, Chandkanwar and Mankanwar. His fourth wife was Rani Veerbai Jhala (4). Whose son was Jeth Singh.

4.1 Attack on Chittorgarh by Emperor Akbar
This incident is from 1567 to 68 BC. When the army of Emperor Akbar of the Red Fort located in Delhi attacked Chittaurgarh. in the meantime Uday Singh Rana left the responsibility of protecting Chittorgarh on General Jaimal Rathore and Veer Fatta Sisodia. And he himself went towards Gogunda. About 30,000 people were killed in this terrible attack by Akbar.
Where Akbar’s army was continuously attacking Chittorgarh fort with cannons. But the walls of the fort which broke due to these attacks were rebuilt in the darkness of the night. However, these walls were led by Jaimal Mertiya. This incident is from 24 February 1568 AD. Where Akbar attacked Jaimal with a battle gun. And due to this attack, Jaimal’s leg got badly injured.
Now Kalla ji Rathore made Jaimal sit on his shoulders. And both of them fought with swords in their hands. And they were martyred while fighting at Bheravpol, the second gate of Chittorgarh. Where their chhatri is installed near Bheravpol. Although Akbar was very impressed by their valor. He got their statues made sitting on elephants and riding elephants and installed them at the gate of Agra fort.
Meanwhile, on 25 February 1568 AD, Akbar captured the Chittorgarh fort. Although, at this time, Akbar was surprised. Because he had to sweat a lot in winning this fort. Akbar ordered to kill all the children and old people inside the fort. Where he had to face a lot of struggles too.
4.2 Battle of Harmara (Kishangarh)
The battle of Harmara (Kishangarh) took place in Ajmer, Rajasthan on 24 June 1557 AD. This battle was fought between Maharana Uday Singh Rana of Mewar and Haji Khan Pathan. Haji Khan Pathan was victorious in this battle. The reason for this battle was Rangrai prostitute. However, after this battle, Rao Maldev Rathore defeated Maharana Udai Singh and captured Merta.

5.1 Mata Panna Dhay saving the life of Uday Singh Rana

Mata Panna Dhay reaches Kumbhalgarh fort from Chittorgarh fort. And Maharana Uday Singh Rana is brought up in this fort of Mewar. And during this time Mata Panna Dhay protected the honour of Mewar.
6. Death of Uday Singh Rana
Here below is the information about the death of Maharana Udai Singh.
Maharana Uday Singh Rana died at the age of just 49 years. He died on 28 February 1572 AD on the day of Holi in Gogunda. Where his chhatri has been installed in Gogunda.
The cause of his death is also told to be lightning.
However, the more likely reason for his death is that his brother Rana Raimal killed Udai Singh to avenge the death of his father Rana Kumbha.
